Comfort Yeboah and Jennifer Owusuaa of Ampem Darkoa Ladies have been named to the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League (CAFWCL) Team of the Tournament.
Following an outstanding performance in Ampem Darkoa that saw them take fourth place, the two were the only Ghanaians named to this year's Team of the Tournament.Yeboah began all of the competition's games for the Techiman-based team at right back, where he scored two goals and forced an own goal in the opening contest.
The 16-year-old scored in the match that had to be won in order for her team to move to the semifinals against Huracanes FC, following her outstanding performance in the competition's opening match against ASFAR Club.
Similar to her colleague, Owusuaa was included in the starting lineup for each of the competition's five games and scored what was possibly the best goal of the whole thing.
The winger gave her team a boost against Equatorial Guinea by scoring a 30-yard goal, which ultimately caused them to lose to Sporting Club Casablanca.
In a rematch of the opening group match, Ampem Darkoa later fell to ASFAR Club in the playoff game for third place as well.
