Black Stars forward Inaki Williams is ecstatic to have scored his first goal for his nation after 11 games without one.
At the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, he headed home the game-winning goal in the final seconds against Madagascar to give Ghana three points in their opening 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
"I'm thrilled for the crew; this is not an easy task. Both the game and the environment were enjoyable to me. The Kumasi people are truly unique," he remarked.
"This performance is so beautiful for me because my family was in the stadium."
The coach of Ghana, Chris Hughton, was all praise for the Bilbao player, who has been selected six times in eight games.
"He scored the goal today [Friday] thanks to a superb cross that was placed just right by Gideon Mensah and Inaki.
"I am always confident if we provide good enough chances for him, he'll always score goals."
On November 21, Inaki hopes to score more points when Ghana plays Comoros.
