The artist Shatta Wale has angered the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) for "mocking" his colleague Stonebwoy's disabilities.
Last week, Shatta Wale attacked Stonebwoy for skipping the much awaited Sallahfest concert. He made light of Stonebwoy's limp during his tirade on stage, using some "unprintable" language that many believed was unnecessary, despite his animosity against the "Nominate" hitmaker.
The GSPD denounced Shatta Wale's activities in a news release, calling them reckless and possibly detrimental to the mental well-being of the community of people with physical disabilities.
According to the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD), Shatta Wale makes fun of Stonebouy's disabilities in a video that has been making the rounds on social media. Among other derogatory remarks, Shatta Wale remarked in the video, "You are a disabled person; don't try to fight an able person because you are a bad person, which is why God made you a disabled person."
By making this claim, he is attempting to imply that all people with disabilities are evil, which is why God created each of us uniquely. Shata Wale, a well-known figure, shouldn't have made such a crude statement, the statement said.
The organisation emphasised that having a disability does not imply that one is cursed or that one is being punished by God.

The group demanded that Shatta Wale issue an apology to the public and take action to take down the insulting videos from social media.
The GSPD reminded everyone that it is illegal to make fun of or disparage someone because of their condition, citing the condition Act 715.
We would like to remind Shatta Wale that a significant portion of his fan base consists of people with disabilities who have helped shape who he is. Did he consider their feelings? Maybe Shatta Wale believes he's achieved enough success to not give a damn?
The group said, "Disability indeed can be anyone's lot at any given time," and urged people to embrace and show empathy for people with disabilities.

Following Shatta Wale's remarks on the Sallahfest stage, artist Bosheba De Shyne expressed his dissatisfaction in the musician.
The disabled musician expressed his disapproval of an artist he looks up to weaponizing their condition and using it as a means of defaming a fellow professional.
