Ghana will host filming for a segment of the second season of the Nigerian film "Anikulapo," according to director Kunle Afolayan.
Afolayan made this declaration at the recent Nigeria International Film and TV Summit (NIFS), which was attended by a number of media figures and industry experts and took place in Cannes, France.
This is in line with the "Shoot in Ghana" campaign of the National Film Authority.
When the news was made during the Summit, Juliet Yaa Asantewa Asante, the Executive Secretary of Ghana's National Film Authority, who mediated the deal in France, was there.
Additionally dedicated to education, Kunle Afolayan has trained over 10,000 students in Nigeria and other areas of the continent through his film school, KAP Academy.
According to his declaration, a large number of Ghanaians—including those not in the film industry will be engaged, and during the filming, talents will be imparted. "Anikulapo" is a television series and film produced by Netflix.
Since its start two years ago, Ghana's "shoot in Ghana" campaign has witnessed many ground-breaking triumphs, including the much-discussed Super Bowl commercial that was filmed in the nation (Ghana) and numerous others that are still to be revealed.
