Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena of Ghana has stated that he is not interested in award programs, citing controversy, inconsistency, and artist rivalry as justifications.
In a Daybreak Hitz interview with DJ Slim, Kwabena Kwabena stated that he wished for a more organized and consistent method of acknowledging artistic accomplishments.While appreciating the importance of receiving recognized for one's work, he added, "I wish it can be structured in a way that even when you are nominated, you will feel good."
Kwabena Kwabena bemoaned the personalization of prizes, saying that it frequently resulted in conflicts and altercations between performers.
He said that confrontations that have occurred on stage in the past "take away the beauty of entertainment and the joy of the ceremony."
The Aso hitmaker declared that he favored an awards program that honors the cooperation and respect amongst musicians.
He said that he would find award schemes more enticing if they took a more cooperative approach.
Kwabena Kwabena noted how much he enjoyed the entertainment value of award shows, as it allowed him to appreciate music rather than competitiveness through performance.
