Rema wished to “feel young again,” pointing out that adult demands had shaped his life and career.
He stated: “I really wanted to feel like a child again… I feel like I grew up too fast. Life switched up crazily when my dad and brother died leaving me with so much responsibility on my shoulders until I had to sacrifice my own youth on the altar of family provision.
It seemed like everything would finish once I hustled through Ghanaian beats and all sorts of petty businesses but it happened that music blew up big-time for me – I went ahead plunging into it without looking back! Thank God, everything went down well and so quickly including my catapulting stardom which came with a lot more responsibilities at once.
There were so many adults around me who were busy holding meetings while I did not even hang around with people within my age group.
"I can’t say whether I’m even hanging out with kids who are 19 or 18 years old. When I was 17 I never saw anybody else that age and being 20 meant meeting people who were five or six or ten years older than me. Nowadays all I want from this project is to feel like a child again and it’s just emerging now. It’s about wanting to be young once more and rebellious at the same time. This thing called fatigue made me put freedom into my music."

"I just want to be young again! Just be like a rebel without any restrictions imposed on me! But when you are a teenager, you can make mistakes that your peers have made and they are forbidden for you. Otherwise, if you make those wrong choices while still in the public eye everyone turns against you no matter how small they seem."
"I know people who took up smoking cigarettes at thirteen and here I am twenty-four; chain-smoking because all I need is a momentary escape from boredom and defy all regulations governing human behavior on earth! My life feels so regimented and planned that sometimes it seems as if everything has already been scripted out long before birth itself occurred! Therefore, this is just one more way of being free through my songs."
